What is your car worth in Canada?

Live asking prices from Canadian dealer inventory, with the two things nobody else publishes: how long a vehicle actually takes to sell, and how often the price gets cut before it does.

How these figures are built

Every page in this section is generated from the same live dealer inventory the API serves, rebuilt on each deploy. What follows applies to all of them.

One row per vehicle, and only priced ones

A vehicle advertised by two dealers is counted once, not twice, and a listing with no published price is not counted at all. Both are why a total here is smaller than the advertisement count on the data pages — those count advertisements, these count vehicles you could actually price.

Asking prices, never sale prices

Nothing on this site sees a transaction. Every dollar figure is what a seller is asking or was asking, which is a real and useful number and is not an appraisal. Do not use it for lending, insurance or a legal valuation — see terms.

Odometer bands are not a depreciation curve

An odometer table describes what is listed at that mileage today. Reading it as depreciation credits the odometer with differences that belong to trim, condition, region and who is selling. Used vehicles only, and never a model year that has not happened yet: a future year's odometer is a warranty or lease constant scraped as kilometres.

A markdown share is a floor

A price cut is measured against the first asking price we recorded for that listing, not the first that ever existed, so a cut made before the listing came into view is invisible. Cuts outside 0.5–40% are treated as data errors and excluded — the field carries sentinel values on real cars, and an unfenced ratio against one reports a 99.99% discount with a straight face.

Days to sell only sees the ones that left

The days-listed quartiles come from completed listings: vehicles that appeared and then went. A vehicle still for sale is not in them, so they say how long the ones that sold took, not how long yours will. That is exactly the blind spot sell-through does not have.

Sell-through counts the cars still sitting

Where a slice is big enough, the sell-through table covers every vehicle whose listing started 30 to 60 days ago and whose arrival we watched — the ones still for sale included, counted as not sold. Position is the day-one asking price as a ratio to the market price for that exact make, model, year, condition and odometer band. It describes; it does not advise.

How far back the record goes

The outcome record behind every time-on-market and sell-through figure begins in mid-2026. There is no year-over-year on this site and no "best month to sell", because there is not yet a year of it to read — anything of that shape would be invented rather than measured.

When a page appears and disappears

A slice gets a full, indexable page at 60 listed vehicles and keeps it down to 45; it renders with a small-sample warning from 8, and holds that down to 5. Below that there is no page and the link points one level up. The two bars exist so a slice sitting on a threshold does not appear and vanish as cars sell. A page that does go redirects to its nearest surviving parent rather than breaking.

Counting inventory rather than pricing one vehicle? Data coverage lists the per-province and per-make pages, with listing and distinct-vehicle counts for every slice.
